Color, Color, Color!!

Yellow Embossed Dresser

This is truly a one of a kind!!  My friend called me up, knowing I was looking for a dresser to hold piano music.  She asked me if I cared what the dresser looked like.  "Well yeah of course, its going in my front room."  She told me she found one that was Freeee!!  I of course said I wanted it, and she was so sweet, and delivered it to me.  It was UGLY, smelled of cats, and came with a mirror (bonus).
I kept it in my backyard for a while, and then tried it out (after cleaning it of course).  The original color wasn't actually all that bad, it blended in with my walls, but I wasn't proud of it.
I decided I would change the knobs and paint it.  I looked all over the internet, and in several local stores for knobs, and found that it was going to be EXPENSIVE to replace the knobs.  So, I spray painted them black instead ( I had the paint already).  I then decided to match the color with my chair covers.  All I did was lightly sand it, and again (loving behr paint) bought two quarts of behr premium paint in Sunburst (one quart eggshell, and one quart semi-gloss).  I went to my local craft store and picked up a stencil and went to work.  I at first wanted the floral decor to be flat against the surface, but found that it wasn't very visible that way, and so decided to leave it embossed.  The egg shell sheen is on the bottom and the semi-gloss is the embossed design.
I love how subtle the design is, and the punch of yellow is so much fun!!
